We teach professional 和 helping skills by involving students in experiential labs, research, 现场工作 和 实习 throughout the entire major, beginning to end.
Interested students connect with a program adviser in their first or second year to review our online 和 on-campus course offerings 和 to learn about our student clubs 和 volunteer opportunities.
Our students work 和 volunteer in many of St. Cloud’s community agencies, including youth clubs, mental 和 behavioral health treatment centers, 女性的避难所, 学校, early childhood programs, 高级护理, 和 residential treatment centers.

Applied Behavior Analysis Minor
The Applied Behavior Analysis minor will provide you with foundation courses in ABA that will help when applying for entry level ABA jobs or graduate level education. The minor includes the courses needed to sit for the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) exam (supervised hours are also required). Many ABA centers 和 agencies require the BCaBA credential.
社区 Psychology Minor
The 社区 Psychology minor complements majors in community health, communication science 和 disorders, child 和 family studies, 刑事司法, 心理学, 特殊教育, social work 和 other fields. We offer online 和 on-campus course options 和 experiential learning.
As the national dem和 for addiction counseling treatment services grows, so does the dem和 for our interns 和 graduates in addiction counseling.
Our students excel in 实习, earning site supervisors' top ratings. That means they also move swiftly into addictions treatment work.
We get to know our applicants for the major through an extensive application process 和 a personal interview, 和 we consider work experience, 学者, interpersonal skills 和 commitment to addiction counseling work when we accept students to the major.
We offer online 和 on-campus courses, 和 we prepare students to go on to graduate degrees in counseling or professional 心理学 programs.
We're one of the few programs that offer a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling.
Our academic program meets the requirements for the Addiction Counselor License, 和 our graduates are prepared to apply for the Minnesota Licensed Addictions 和 Drug Counselor licensure.
